My name is Ali Chambers. I’m 39 years old and I serve as Mosaic’s lead pastor. I was born and raised in Memphis. My dad is also from Memphis but my mom was born and raised in Iran. They met in college, got married, moved to memphis, and then had me in 1980. When I was 8 years old a neighbor friend invited me to children's church and shortly after my parents followed and both made professions of faith. I walked the aisle when I was 12 and made a profession of faith but that faith didn’t become real until I was in high school.
My aspiration to serve as an elder grew out of a strong desire to know Christ and to make Him known during my high school years. I would alway echo the works of Paul in Romans 15:20 “It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known...” And with this ambition came a desire to make Christ known among all peoples. Through the gospel and my story God birthed a passion for a transcultural church where Jesus transcends all of our differences and makes us one. This calling to make Christ known among all peoples, in all His beauty, continues to be a passion that defines my ministry. And it is my passion to lead Mosaic to be a church that reflects the transcendent beauty of Christ among all nations and ethnicities.
My name is Brad Wyatt. I am 61 years old and have been a Christ follower for 28 years. I always tell people that I did not know I wasn’t a Christian until actually becoming one! I was doing undercover work in the seedy Memphis nightlife industry and God convicted me of being as far from him as the people working in the illicit businesses.
After my conversion, I studied the Bible a good deal and quickly learned that God is a loving God and that He desires an intimate, personal relationship with me. By God’s power, He gave me leadership gifts, including preaching/teaching, shepherding, evangelism, and hospitality. I have used these gifts as an elder in three other congregations besides Mosaic.
Upon returning to Memphis in June of 2013, God placed a strong desire in us to be a part of something new in Memphis. That quickly turned into joining up with Ali where God was already working in birthing Mosaic. I love Mosaic and the people God has seen fit to allow us to be in community with. I have been a part of the leadership team from the beginning and God has definitely placed a burden on my heart to be an elder at Mosaic.
My name is Caleb Sigler. I grew up in a wonderful Christian home, and accepted Christ at an early age. My faith journey has been far from easy, with many pitfalls and doubts and fears over the course of my life. That being said, I can point out many critical moments of faith “conversion” and growth that have made me the Christ follower I am today. The process of giving in to Christ’s obvious love and grace for me is never ending. The more I am made aware of His goodness, the more my heart longs to worship Him.
My passion for Christ-exalting worship, and my background in the creative arts, have led me to many faith families and creative communities from all over. I am fascinated with the place where faith, community, and the arts collide. I have spent a good deal of my life in Christ performing, speaking, and ministering in creative contexts both in and outside the Church.
My wife Casey and I moved back to Memphis in 2009 and into Midtown (specifically Vollintine Evergreen) in 2011. We felt a burden for the socio-economic, racial, creative, and political divides in our city, and believed that God was opening up doors to something new. We began using our home and our various creative connections to pour into individuals on the outskirts of faith. We have been a part of two church plants since then (Christ City Church, LHVE) and are so very thrilled to join the leadership of Mosaic. After serving as the worship leader at Living Hope Church for a few years, God burdened my heart to aspire towards Biblical Eldership. I am humbled to continue that service within Mosaic Church. My prayer is to be a part of a church of worshippers from all backgrounds and cultures.
My name is Matt Scholes. I’m 31 years old and have known Jesus’ grace for 24 of them (nearly all my living memory). I was born and raised in Memphis, but after marrying my high school sweetheart, Heather, in 2010, we lived in 6 different states in our first 4 years of marriage.
After exploring California, Florida, D.C., and New York, as newlyweds, I now work as an engineer at FedEx. We have two little boys, Caleb (3) and Andrew (baby). Heather and I joined Mosaic as members in 2016, where I now serves as an elder. In my free time I love to play (and get friends hooked on) board games, ride the greenline with my family, shout at soccer matches, and learn new things about the world. That passion for learning extends into my relationship with Christ and His Word, often studying and sharing insights into Biblical truths.
I was raised from a very young age with the foundation of love for God's word, His unfathomable holiness, an acute awareness of my sin, and the wonder of the miraculous gift Jesus gave us in His death and resurrection. My commitment and zeal for the things of God and seeing Him glorified has had it's high and low points, but I have been blessed with this persistent backdrop.
I love this church body and wish to see her grow in the knowledge and wisdom of Christ's love. His love is wide and long and high and deep. Let's join Him in making all things new.
Hello. I am John Francisco. I have lived in Memphis since 2009. I am from Florida but moved to Memphis to become an Operator for Chick-fil-A. We live in midtown now and love it. I had always hoped to a part of a small enough community that I could worship live and work in the same neighborhood. We have grown to love Memphis over the years and have loved the opportunity to live in Christian community at Living Hope. We are excited about becoming a new church and see what God is and will be doing in all our lives. I have been Married to Marybeth for 15 years and we have 4 kids. Maddy and Kinnly are 7 years old, Jude is 4 years old and Titus is 3 years old.
I became a believer at the young age of 8 years old. At that point I knew what sin was and that I needed forgiveness. Over the years I have grown to know that salvation is more than forgiveness. I love the Lord with all my heart and love to serve him each day.
Hi I’m Justin Burkhead. I’m from Memphis, but lived in Brimingham from 1997-2010. I first heard and received the good news of the gospel in the 7th grade. I grew as a disciple in a strong youth group, and God used that season to begin a call to vocational ministry. In college and seminary I pastored a small baptist church in an under-resourced neighborhood, and that’s when God confirmed my calling even more specifically to urban ministry.
In 2008 I married my dream girl Brittany, and ever since moving back to Memphis we have been either pregnant or nursing, having 4 kids in 6 years - Gray, 7, John Warren, 5, Luke, 3, and Beau, 1. In addition to making babies, Brittany and I also helped to start a grocery store with my dad and a church (LHVE) with several other people. God has truly blessed the rollercoaster that has been the last 9 years.
Our calling to serve Mosaic and lead LHVE through a merger is exciting and an answered prayer. Mosaic is the exact type of church that I want for my family and for Memphis. I pray that God continues to lead me clearly and in a way that glorifies him. And, I hope to continue to grow in my understanding of his Kingdom and the grace, mercy, and renewal that he uses to operate it.
